Short Biography
Ilana Dobkin is a doctoral student in the Medical Education track at the Faculty of Education in Science and Technology at the Technion – Israel Institute of Technology, under the supervision of Prof. Shirly Avargil. She is a registered nurse and coordinates the Training and Simulation Center at the Academic Nursing School of Ziv Medical Center in Zefat, where she also teaches geriatrics and respiratory nursing. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Health Systems Administration and a master’s degree in Nursing. Her academic and professional work brings together nursing education, simulation, collaborative learning, and teamwork.
Research Areas
The primary focus of Ilana Dobkin’s research is the development of teamwork competence among health professions students through socially shared regulation of learning (SSRL). Her research examines how students collectively plan, monitor, evaluate, and adapt their work in problem-based learning environments. She uses mixed methods, including observations of group interactions, interviews, questionnaires, and qualitative content analysis.
